Life is full of risks. However, there are choices we can make in our everyday life to improve our quality of life and avoid needless risks. Because we're better informed today about various health risks many of us are exercising, and eating a healthier diet to avoid certain life-threatening diseases. Along those same lines, it is possible to make further inroads into our overall health by improving the health of our homes and eliminating household toxins that have been linked to cancer, Attention Deficit Disorder, asthma, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, infertility and more. We need to take personal responsibility, be informed, and act immediately to protect our families and ourselves against harmful household toxins. Contrary to popular belief, adequate laws and regulations do not exist to protect the public from harm's way.
Of the 17,000 chemicals found in everyday household products only 30% have been sufficiently tested for negative health effects and only 10% for their effect on the nervous system. And we're clueless when it comes to knowledge on the long-term effect of exposure to these toxins or to the mixing of chemicals within the body. The good news is, there are responsible
manufacturers that have developed products that are safer, more
effective, and less expensive than the products you find in your grocery
stores. |
